UPDATE: Mike Brown Suspect in Strong Armed Robbery!

Recent investigations into the Mike Brown case have showed that Mike Brown, 18 year old shot by Ferguson Police on August 9th, allegedly stole a $48.99 box of cigars before he was killed. As stated by Brown’s uncle,Bernard Ewing, “If he’s a robbery suspect, they would have had the lights on, If you rob somebody, you would tell them, ‘Get on the ground’ or something, not, ‘Get off the sidewalk…”It still doesn’t justify shooting him when he puts his hands up…You still don’t shoot him in the face.” Opinions among our youth team agree with Mr. Ewing, as we feel that the officer had many other options of due process than shooting first. With all these repeated cases of young black lives being lost to police brutality, it seems that black youth have become shooting targets for our police officers. SHARE your thoughts below!

#JusticeforMikeBrown – Latest Loss of Another Young Black Teen!

Recently, 18 year old Mike Brown has been racially profile and shot by a member of the Ferguson Police Department. Brown was unarmed at the moment and stood with his arms in the air before being shot to death. Days before his death, Brown struggled to receive a well deserved diploma, and was known to be a kind, funny young adult. As we see more cases pop up, its hard to wonder when racially motivated police violence will stop, as it has now become systematic in the police department. Help fight for #JusticeforMikeBrown by visiting JusticeforMikeBrown.org to SIGN & SHARE!

WATCH: 5X NYPD’s Used Illegal Chokeholds!

Unfortunately, the Eric Garner case is not the first time the New York Police Department has used chokeholds, a policy banned by the NYPD itself. The organization, Color of Change, has created a Buzzfeed article showing 5 times the NYPD’s use of Illegal chokeholds have been caught on camera.

Justice for Renisha McBride is served!

#RememberRenisha? Last year a 19 year old teen, Renisha McBride, was shot by Theodore Wafer after, under the influence of alcohol, she showed up at his doorstep at 4:30 am. However, instead of resorting to calling the police, Wafer resorted to shooting Renisha McBride, leading to her death. As prosecutor Patrick Muscat stated, “”She was a young girl looking for help…What he did had to be immediately necessary and it wasn’t. It was reckless. It was negligent. I don’t know how to describe it. It was horrific.” Wafer, 55 years old, has been convicted of second-degree murder and manslaughter. He will face life in prison and potentially have parole.
